Want a CRM System?

Do you have a detailed plan for it, or were you just going to see what it was capable of doing?

Can we be blunt?  There’s really little point implementing a CRM system if you haven’t mapped out how you want it to work for your business.  A CRM system is a powerful tool and unless you’ve considered how it can improve your business by creating a CRM strategy you could either hardly use it because its features are overwhelming to understand… or worse still, end up changing your business to fit the software which could be a huge mistake!

What is a CRM Strategy?

To ensure any CRM system works for your business, you need a clear plan, or map if you will, of how it can help streamline processes and help things flow smoothly.

Your CRM strategy should consider what customer details you record, who in your business requires access to that information, what processes the information is/could be used in, what reporting would be useful to the management team, and what processes you could automate or improve to give your customers a better overall experience.

A CRM strategy will enable you to choose and implement the right CRM system for your business and ensure it is tailored to enable both a better customer journey and strategic business growth.

Why you need a CRM Strategy

There are so many CRM systems on the market.  Buying your CRM software and then thinking about how to use it can be nightmare.  If you select it this way, you have to spend hours understanding what it can do and then take even more time to learn how to actually do those things… and, chances are, whilst you expected it would save you lots of time and help massively in the business, nothing will be further from the truth.

Creating your CRM strategy before looking at software will enable you to know exactly what functions you need, now and in the future.  It will empower you to be able to ask the right questions of the software provider.  And, it will enable you to compare different systems like-for-like, should you wish to.

A CRM system should save your business time and money, whilst improving your services to your customers, and provide you with reporting and forecasting tools so that you can strategically plan growth.  Without having a strategy in place, this is unlikely to happen.

How does a CRM Strategy help the implementation of a CRM System

Your strategy will enable your CRM system supplier to help you select the right software, as they will clearly be able to see how you intend to use it.

Here at Unimax Solutions, Becky is also often able to suggest further improvements to your systems and procedures, enhancing your customer’s experience and streamlining processes because she understands the power of a CRM system so well.

Once you have your software selected, you should never be left to implement it yourself.

Your provider should tailor the software to your business, help with the migration of data into it, and train your team on how to use it.  You should then be offered ongoing support, to future proof your system for new developments in your business.  That’s certainly how we roll anyway!
